Zero or only a few results? Try the following:
Only one term per line or separate your terms with commas.
Check your spelling. The Google toolbar has a spell check for web forms. In the worst case scenario, spell it as it sounds.
Use proper case for Names of People and Places. Uppercase the first letter of each word.
Use the full name of a person or place rather than abbreviations: example: "Stanford University" rather than "Stanford". It often helps a lot.
Try being consistent: example "Stanford University", "Harvard University" rather than: "Stanford University", "Harvard".
Start with a few entries or terms at a time. Refine the list by removing entries or terms returned, then resubmit your results.
Allowable operators are +,-: example dog, cat, -ls.
